What Makes This Machine Different?
Most laser cutters force you to choose between safety and productivity. The AC-2040-2FC gives you both.
Safety without compromise. The full metal enclosure with interlocked sliding doors contains 100% of laser radiation, flying sparks, and metal dust. Your workshop stays clean. Your operators stay safe. No need for extra safety curtains or restricted zones.
Productivity without pause. While one 2000×4000mm table is cutting, the other is being loaded or unloaded. The tables swap in 15 seconds – not minutes. That means your laser is cutting 30–40% more hours per shift than a single-table machine.
Precision without drift. The heavy-duty annealed bed frame and aerospace-grade aluminum gantry maintain their geometry through years of thermal and mechanical stress. Your parts stay accurate – batch after batch.
Key Engineering Highlights
Bed Frame – The Foundation of Accuracy
The bed is fabricated from extra-thick steel tubes with additional bracing at every stress point – where the exchange table lands, where the gantry rides, where heavy plates rest. After welding, the entire structure undergoes high-temperature annealing and vibration stress relief to remove residual stresses. Then comes precision milling on a large gantry machining center – all guide rail mounting surfaces are machined to tight tolerances. This is not a bolt-together frame; it is a welded monolith designed to hold its geometry for decades.
Gantry – Lightweight but Rigid
The beam is made from aerospace-grade aluminum alloy, formed through high-pressure die-casting. Compared to steel, it cuts weight by nearly 60% while maintaining excellent rigidity. Lower weight means lower inertia – the machine accelerates and decelerates faster, with less wear on drive components. The result: smoother cuts on complex contours and faster cycle times on simple shapes.
Drive System – Precision in Motion
Motors: Yaskawa bus-type absolute servo motors on all axes. The Y-axis uses dual-side drive – two motors, two racks, two reducers working in sync. This eliminates the “push-pull” effect seen in single-drive designs, where one side of the beam lags behind the other. Your corners stay square; your circles stay round.
Guide rails: HIWIN square rails with high hardness and wear resistance – they maintain their profile through millions of cycles.
Rack and pinion: YYC ground helical gears with carburized and quenched tooth surfaces. Backlash is minimal; transmission is smooth.
Reducers: Motoreducer planetary gearboxes match the servo output to the mechanical load, reducing vibration and ensuring consistent feed.
Laser Source – Power When You Need It
The standard configuration uses a Raycus 12,000W CE-edition fiber laser with 1064nm wavelength and >40% electro-optical efficiency. Power stability is within ±1% – your cut quality stays consistent from the first part of the day to the last.
For high-reflection materials (aluminum, copper, brass), the laser includes anti-back-reflection protection – it detects reflected light and adjusts to prevent damage. This is not a feature you find on entry-level machines.
Other brands (IPG, MAX, JPT, BWT) are available upon request.
Cutting Head – The Business End
The BOCI BLT series head does more than focus a beam. It:
-
Auto-focuses – adjusts focal position automatically for different thicknesses
-
Detects lens condition – warns you before contamination affects cut quality
-
Monitors gas pressure – ensures consistent assist gas flow
-
Protects against collision – breaks away safely if the head hits an obstacle
This reduces unplanned downtime and extends the life of expensive optics.
Control System – Intelligence Built In
The BOCHU FSCUT8000C is an EtherCAT-based bus system designed specifically for high-power laser cutting (8000W and above). Key capabilities:
-
Intelligent piercing – adapts pierce parameters to material type and thickness
-
Slag removal during piercing – prevents buildup that can affect subsequent cuts
-
Vibration suppression – reduces chatter at high speeds
-
Mark-free micro-joint cutting – keeps small parts in place without surface marks
-
Automatic re-cutting – if a part doesn’t drop, the system cuts it again
The system supports DXF, DWG, AI, and PLT files directly. You don’t need a separate programming station – the software handles nesting, path optimization, and parameter selection.
Chiller – Keeping Cool Under Pressure
The S&A 12,000W chiller has two independent circuits – one for the laser source, one for the cutting head. Each circuit maintains its set temperature within ±1°C. The system also includes:
-
Flow monitoring
-
Over-temperature protection
-
Low-water alarm
-
Compressor delay protection
If the chiller detects an issue, it alerts the control system – which can pause the laser before damage occurs.
Enclosure – Safety Is Not an Option
The enclosure is built from thick steel panels on a rigid metal frame. Sliding doors with safety interlocks prevent accidental access during cutting. Inside, two HD cameras give you a clear view of the cutting process on an external monitor – you don’t need to open the doors to check on the job.
The enclosure also contains 90%+ of cutting fumes – connect your dust extraction system to the built-in ports and your workshop air stays breathable.

Dual-Shuttle Exchange Table – How It Works
The exchange table is not an add-on – it is integrated into the machine’s core operation. Here is the workflow:
-
Table A moves into cutting position. The laser head begins cutting the sheet on Table A.
-
While Table A is cutting, the operator loads raw sheet metal onto Table B (in the standby position outside the enclosure).
-
Cutting finishes on Table A. The control system automatically retracts Table A and simultaneously moves Table B into cutting position.
-
The cycle repeats. By the time Table B finishes cutting, Table A has been unloaded and reloaded.
The result: The laser is cutting over 90% of the time, compared to 60–70% with a single-table machine. For a 16-hour day, that’s an extra 3–5 hours of productive cutting – without adding labor or floor space.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: How does the dual-shuttle table compare to a single-table machine?
A single-table machine stops cutting while you load and unload. The dual-shuttle eliminates that downtime. In real-world production, the dual-shuttle machine delivers 30–40% more cutting hours per shift.
Q2: Is the full enclosure necessary?
For compliance with CE and OSHA standards – yes. The enclosure also keeps your workshop cleaner, reduces noise, and protects operators from laser radiation. It’s a productivity investment, not just a safety box.
Q3: What power should I choose?
-
3–4kW: Thin sheets up to 16mm – ideal for general fabrication
-
6kW: Medium plates up to 25mm – good balance of speed and thickness
-
12kW: Heavy plates up to 45mm – for high-volume industrial cutting
Q4: Can I cut aluminum with this machine?
Yes – up to 25mm with 12kW. The laser includes anti-back-reflection protection to prevent damage when cutting reflective materials.
Q5: How long does it take to switch tables?
15 seconds – the fastest in this class. The system times the swap to happen while the cutting head moves to the next pierce point, so you don’t lose a second.
Q6: What file formats does the software support?
DXF, DWG, AI, and PLT. The nesting software imports directly from your CAD system.
Q7: Do you provide training?
Yes – 5 days of on-site training at your facility. We cover machine operation, software, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Q8: What if I need to cut longer sheets?
Custom working areas are available – up to 2500×6000mm or 2500×8000mm. Contact us to discuss your requirements.
